The first ever Sunset Stroll for LMS (LeioMyoSarcoma) will take place in Abington, Pennsylvania (the suburbs of Philadelphia) on
October 10, 2010
Come stroll Alverthorpe's paved pathway through the park with your family and friends.
Raise money for LMS (only 4 people in a million are diagnosed with LMS...hence the need for awareness and research funding).

Event will include:
- A special guest just for the kids leading us in the Stroll
- Prizes for most walked laps completed (walked / run)
- Raffles for Philly Burb products/services -- including a breakfast for 2, a Little Gym Gift Certificate and several others!
- Healthy Pre & Post Stroll snacks provided by food sponsors -- including Jules Thin Crust Pizza
- Fun extras like balloon twisting and face-painting by Fabulous Faces
- Facts and figures on LMS (like the
fact that only 4 people in 1 million are diagnosed with LMS) so everyone
can leave knowing more about this rare, incurable cancer
- Various Philly Burb organizations that make family life more manageable and fun

Our mission is to provide leadership in: supporting research of LeioMyoSarcoma, improving treatment outcomes of those affected by this disease as well as fostering awareness in the medical community and the general public.
Leiomyosarcoma is a rare form of cancer, which affects about four people in every million. It spreads through the blood stream and can affect the lungs, liver, blood vessels or any other soft tissue in the body. Presently there is no cure, only remission if it can be attained, and this rare cancer can reappear anywhere and at any time. Because of its rarity, few doctors know how to treat it and it attracts little research.
The National LMS Foundation Inc. was formed on July 14, 2001. We were granted 501 c(3) status from the IRS as a non profit organization
